Quick answer
Choose the asset you have, the asset you want, and enter an amount. Live reference mode fetches a current rate; manual mode accepts any quote you already have.
Add likely fee and slippage percentages when you care about the amount that may reach the destination. A clean spot-price multiplication usually overstates that amount.
How to use it
- 1Enter an amount and select the source and destination assets.
- 2Use live reference for a recent market rate, or choose manual rate to model a venue quote.
- 3Open conversion costs and enter the expected fee and slippage.
- 4Compare the net output with the quote shown by the wallet or exchange immediately before confirming.
Formula and method
Gross output = source amount × conversion rate. Net output = gross output − fee impact − slippage impact. Each cost is calculated as a percentage of gross output.
For crypto-to-crypto pairs, the live route divides both assets' reference prices in the same quote currency. Fiat-to-fiat pairs use a crypto reference bridge and should be treated as approximate.
Worked example
If 1 BTC is quoted at 75,000 USD, then 0.10 BTC converts to $7,500 before costs. A 0.20% fee removes $15, while 0.10% slippage removes another $7.50.
The estimated amount received is $7,477.50. A limit order can behave differently from a market order, and withdrawal or network fees may be charged separately.
Limits to know
- Rates are reference data and are not firm buy or sell offers.
- Network withdrawal fees and fixed venue charges must be converted into a percentage or handled separately.
- Stablecoins can trade away from one dollar, so USD, USDT, and USDC are separate choices.
- Provider downtime, rate limits, and stale markets can interrupt live mode; manual mode remains available.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the live crypto price come from?
The live reference mode requests aggregated market data from CoinGecko through our server. The timestamp beside the result shows when the provider last updated the quote.
Is the converted amount an executable quote?
No. It is a reference conversion. An exchange or wallet can return a different amount because of spread, liquidity, route, fees, and price movement.
Can I include trading fees and slippage?
Yes. Open the cost section and enter both as percentages. The calculator subtracts them from the gross converted amount.
What happens when live prices are unavailable?
Switch to manual rate and enter a quote from your preferred venue. All conversion math then runs locally in the browser.
