In brief. For US readers, KuCoin and Changelly are excluded by the terms we checked. ChangeNOW describes a conditional registered-user route in specific states. Swapzone requires checks of the actual exchange partner.

A KCS exchange is only useful if it accepts your location and your token's network. For US readers, I would exclude KuCoin and Changelly under the terms checked below. ChangeNOW describes a conditional route for verified users in specific states. Swapzone requires a separate check of its exchange partner. We did not verify a live KCS order for a US account.

These are four services to assess, not four recommended US exchanges. I would rather rule out an unsuitable option than recommend it just to fill a list.

Last checked September 8, 2026. The amounts below are public estimates, not quotes for an approved US account. No orders or transfers were completed. Links are not referral links.

The Four Services at a Glance

ServiceService typeUS accessWhat to check next

SwapzoneExchange comparison and routing interfaceNo verified US KCS route in this reviewSelected provider's eligibility and terms
ChangellySwap serviceExcluded: US is a restricted locationDo not proceed as a restricted user
KuCoinCentralized trading platformExcluded: US is a restricted locationUse official support for an existing-account issue

The eligibility assessments come from ChangeNOW's general terms, ChangeNOW Pro terms, Swapzone terms, Changelly terms, and KuCoin terms.

1. ChangeNOW: A Conditional US Route, Not Blanket Access

Entering 0.001 BTC in the public form returned an estimate of 10.8259 KCS. The form also had a fixed-rate control. That made it easy to see an amount without an account, but it did not confirm US access or an accepted price.

The receiving-asset search was less clear. Its KCS row said KuCoin Token without a network suffix, while nearby results named their networks. That is a detail I would want fixed before relying on this form. Do not infer the receiving chain from the ticker. Confirm the network and US account conditions first. KCS form

ChangeNOW's general terms require KYC for US residents. The prohibited-jurisdiction section then gives a US exception through account creation under the Pro terms. Those Pro terms describe third-party processing for registered and verified users in listed states. General terms, sections 3 and 11

The Pro list includes Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming, plus the District of Columbia. Pro terms, section 1.4

That is not every state. A listed location also does not establish that a particular processor currently offers KCS on your network.

ChangeNOW Pro's section 1.4 lists specific US locations and requires registered, verified users with third-party processing. September 8, 2026.

The Pro page contains general wording about optional verification, while the general terms impose mandatory US KYC. Do not rely on the more permissive sentence. Obtain confirmation of the rules for your route before depositing.

For a California resident, an account-free exchange headline does not override the US account requirements. The location-specific terms matter more than the homepage claim.

I would only take ChangeNOW further after confirming the state, account, and network conditions. This review does not establish a working KCS route for your account.

2. Swapzone: Compare Providers, Then Check the Provider

Swapzone's KCS comparison page identified the asset as KCS on Ethereum. Do not assume it also accepts KCC deposits or supports the reverse exchange. KCS product page

We opened KCS/BTC with the displayed input of 40 KCS. The results separated fixed and floating offers. Provider rows showed output amounts, time estimates, and KYC labels. Changelly carried the Best Rate label during this check. That offer is unsuitable for US users under Changelly's terms. A provider labeled best by price can still fail the first eligibility check. Swapzone is useful for comparing offers, but I would not treat its results as a US shortlist. Its market summary also needs work: one section showed KCS at about $7, while another showed $0. Read the actual offer details and check the provider. A KYC frequency label does not promise what will happen to your order.

Its terms describe an intermediary: the chosen exchange provider executes the transaction. Users must also accept that provider's terms, including its KYC and AML requirements. The checked prohibited-location list did not name the US, but this is not a finding that each partner accepts US users. Swapzone service and eligibility terms

Use it to compare providers, not to get around a blocked service. Record the actual exchanger. Then check its country and state access, identity rules, refund process, and supported networks.

Three offers may not mean three providers. If two use the same underlying exchanger, they share that counterparty. Check who will handle your funds and support request.

An advertised zero aggregator fee also does not establish zero total cost. The exchange rate and other charges determine the amount received.

3. Changelly: Exclude It for US Users

Changelly has a public KCS exchange page, but section 5.1.3 of its terms lists the United States, including all territories, among restricted locations. That controls our assessment. We do not recommend it as a US KCS route. Changelly eligibility terms

The frustrating part is that the KCS page is public, so you can reach it before finding the restriction. Support for a coin does not mean support for your location.

For readers elsewhere: verify your own location too. This article has not assessed every jurisdiction. Check current fees and the exact service, rather than extending a US finding to the rest of the world.

If a comparison page sends you to Changelly, stop before sending funds. The referral does not approve the route for a US user.

4. KuCoin: A Reference Platform, but Not a US Choice

KuCoin's current terms include the United States and its territories in restricted locations. We therefore exclude the platform for this US-focused shortlist. KuCoin current terms

Do not confuse a token's relationship to a platform with permission to open or use an account there. Holding KCS does not change location rules.

Existing-account case: contact official support about permitted account-resolution or withdrawal procedures. Do not assume that creating a new account, using another person's identity, or changing your apparent location is an acceptable solution.

For a US reader, the restriction settles the choice. A longer feature list would not change it.

Check the Network Before the Rate

KCS labels can refer to different network representations. A receiving service must support the exact asset and network selected in the sending service. An address with the same visual format does not prove that both ends use the same chain.

Use this record before considering a transfer:

FieldWhat to record
Sending assetFull name, ticker, and contract where applicable
Sending networkThe network selected in the withdrawal or swap form
Receiving assetExact asset and network the destination supports
DestinationVerified address and any explicitly required identifier
QuoteAmount sent, amount received, rate type, and expiry
ProviderActual exchanger, not only the comparison website
Support recordOrder reference and official support URL

An address beginning with 0x does not tell you whether an exchange accepts KCS from Ethereum or KCC. Check the deposit instructions before selecting a network.

Read how crypto bridging differs from a transfer and the network directory. Do not add a bridge just to make an unsupported exchange route appear possible. A bridge adds another system to assess.

Compare the Amount Delivered

Do not rank providers by the displayed service-fee percentage alone. Compare quotes for the same input amount, output asset, network, and time. Include sender-side gas if it sits outside the quote.

The following numbers are fictional USD budgeting examples, not KCS market quotes:

Cost itemExample AExample B
Stated transaction budget$100$100
Estimated value delivered$97$98
Sender cost outside that budget$1$3
Total outlay$101$103
Outlay minus delivered value$4$5

Example B delivers more value but consumes more money. Whether either is acceptable also depends on rate certainty and eligibility. The subtraction uses the same assumed valuation time; it is not a realized trading result.

Save the accepted quote, transfer hash, amount received, and fee record. Keep the source of any USD valuation. The crypto profit calculator can check arithmetic, but it does not determine your tax obligations.

With a floating rate, the final output can change. A fixed-rate quote usually has conditions such as a funding deadline and exact input amount. Read the actual order terms rather than assuming the word "fixed" removes every risk.

A Safe Order of Checks

  1. 01

    Eligibility

Confirm country, state, account, and identity requirements.

  2. 02

    Asset

Match the asset and network at both ends.

  3. 03

    Quote

Check net output, total costs, expiry, and provider terms.

  4. 04

    Records

Keep the order reference and receipts if you proceed.

Stop at any unresolved stage. This sequence does not certify a service or recommend buying KCS.

Failure case: no live quote. A token page can remain online while a route is unavailable. Do not send funds to a previous order address. Ask official support whether a new, eligible order is available.

Failure case: a delayed order. Keep the transaction hash and order reference. Use the provider's verified support channel. Do not send a second payment to someone who contacts you privately and promises to unlock the first.

Before any self-custody transfer, review wallet scam checks, decentralized wallet basics, and seed phrase storage.

Printable Exchange Checklist

  • My location and state are permitted for this specific route.
  • I identified the actual exchange provider.
  • I understand the account and identity requirements.
  • The provider currently supports my asset and network.
  • The destination supports that same asset and network.
  • I compared total outlay and net output.
  • I checked the rate type, minimum, maximum, and expiry.
  • I read the delayed-order and refund procedures.
  • I kept the order details and official support link.
  • I did not share a seed phrase or bypass an access restriction.

If You Only Do 3 Things

  1. Confirm eligibility before creating or funding an order.
  2. Match the network at both ends.
  3. Compare the full quote and keep the records.

Sources and Limits

The linked terms and public forms support this comparison. No account creation, identity verification, or funded exchange was tested. The cost table uses fictional amounts. This is not a legal opinion or account approval.

Consult a qualified US legal or tax professional if state access, business use, or reporting duties are unclear. Do not proceed merely because a form accepts your input. This article does not recommend an investment in KCS.

FAQ

Can US residents use KuCoin for KCS?

The KuCoin terms checked on September 8, 2026 list the US and its territories as restricted locations. We do not recommend it as a US route. Existing users should ask official support about permitted account procedures.

Is ChangeNOW available in every US state?

No blanket access was established. Its Pro terms describe a route for registered and verified users in specified states and DC, through third-party processors. Confirm your location and the actual KCS route before sending.

Does Swapzone approval replace the exchange partner's rules?

No. The selected provider executes the exchange and has its own eligibility and verification terms. An accessible comparison page is not proof of approval.

Can I send KCS on any network to the same address?

Do not assume that. The destination must support the exact asset and network selected. Matching address formats do not establish network compatibility.
